30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 7: My 5 Favorite Songs

Being a music lover, apparently I have tons of favorite songs. Some songs were, I just heard for the first time, then I find it already that good and catchy, even without understanding the lyrics first, it instantly became one of my favorites. While the others were already old, but when I surprisingly hear it again and merely understand the lyrics it will then be also added to the list of my favorites. But there are also some that I just heard for the first time, but then I find the lyrics saying a lot more about me or my feelings, then that's it.  On the other hand, there are also some that I just heard for the first time, and I instantly liked it so I have to play it countless times that I came to the full stop where I almost memorize the lyrics and I became too fed up with the song.

And here are the list of some of my favorite songs (in no particular order), that no matter how many times I listened to it, the impact is nevertheless the same:

1. Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie

Since I first heard this song, this one instantly became my favorite already. Just by the title solely that really hit me, and even without understanding first its lyrics. Being too sensitive and excessively emotional, (I must admit) I should always be reminded with this song. "It's time to be a big girl now and big girls don't cry." When I'm nearly about to cry or when I am already crying, but then I think of this song, this somehow stops me from the sobs and tears that I'm about to loose.

2. Broken Strings by James Morrison feat. Nelly Furtado

Oh it tears me up
I try to hold on, but it hurts too much
I try to forgive, but it's not enough to make it all okay

You can't play on broken strings
You can't feel anything that your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell you something that ain't real

Oh the truth hurts
And lies worse
How can I give anymore
When I love you a little less than before

That was only some part of the whole lyrics. I don't know what is it in this song that made me think that it was written precisely for me. Seriously. That's my first thought when I start realizing that this one will be one of my favorites. Almost everyday after it has been released, I always see its music video, that was the first time I discovered this song, by the way. And so I didn't notice that the more I watched it, the more I'm going to like it. Only after then when I didn't already see the video that I realized I'm already hooked to this song. It's kinda bit late, but good thing there are websites that we can instantly download mp3's. Thanks to the advancement of technology, by the way.

3. Holy Grail by Jay Z Feat. Justin Timberlake

One day you screaming you love me loud
The next day you're so cold
One day you're here, one day you're there, one day you care
You're so unfair

I don't even know why I like this song. But I really do. I first heard it on Showtime, along one of Billy and Vhong's dances. But I didn't bother to download it from the web since I don't know the title and I don't know even parts of the lyrics. It was just only recently that I accidentally played it on Spotify while I was looking for other songs to download. That was the only time that I knew its title. So, I downloaded it and listened to it for countless times because I simply love listening to that song. I really, really do.

4. Not A Bad Thing by Justine Timberlake

I also heard this song for the first time when I saw its music video. I find the lyrics very appealing, but it's not yet  my favorite way back then. And so when I downloaded new songs, I included this one. And so I listened to it and only then I understand more of the lyrics. Because it's quite different if you only saw the music video, some parts of the lyrics were not sung on the video. So, since then I became truly addicted to this song. I just absolutely love the lyrics. It's not a bad thing to fall in love with me, after all. Kidding aside. LOL.

5. Lost Stars by Adam Levine

This song is perfect if you want to be somewhat, senti and you're looking for a perfect background song, I highly recommend this one. This is really perfect to listen to when I'm about to sleep at night and I want to have some mellow music first. After listening to this song a bunch of times, this became also one of my favorites. And I even liked this more when I watched the movie Begin Again, wherein this serves as one of the OST's. It was a part of the movie where Adam Levine emotionally sang this song at his concert and Keira Knightly came but then also left afterwards, I almost cried watching that scene. I truly love that part as much as I love this song.

And that was only five of my favorite songs, (as of the moment). I wanted to put all my favorite songs, but it only requires 5, so that was it. The first two were my all time favorite (I think), and the other three were the most recent addition to the list of my favorites.

Till next time then............
